VIDEO REVIEW BLOG

Doing the screencast feature was semi difficult but not too bad. I had some trouble figuring out how to start the download and keep getting redirected to the launch screen. After I sorted it out and figured out how to start recording the video I had trouble uploading it to Youtube. When uploading to Youtube continued to fail I tried to switch over to Google Drive or Vimeo but it was a feature that I needed to pay for so I figured I would have to think of another way. Eventually after trying Youtube over and over I saved the video I took as a file and then proceeded to log into Youtube and then copy the link from my finder.

One aspect of the screen record process that I liked was how you can chose which part of your screen is in the screen. I had to download the app Proctortrack which gave me similar feelings to this screen recording process. Proctortrack recorded your facial expressions and does not allow you to speak so it was a little bit different than recording my screen and talking over it to describes the features.

One place where this could for sure come in handy is if you were trying to show someone who is far away how to use a certain tool on your computer or if someone needed help designing a website or anything me of that nature. I think family members or anyone needing to figure out how to use a certain tool could immensely benefit from this.

  1. Hi Hunter,

Great video! You were very detailed and explained everything in a very clear manner. I struggled with utilizing the screencasting software too but your video turned out really well. I also like your perspective on how this tool can be used for other tasks such as helping someone whose faraway figure out how to do something online.
